Very hard to call in to make appointment, pricing is at least 1.5-2x vs competitors. The silver lining is Tech is courteous and on-time.Would not recommend unless your building has a contract with them on lower pricing.
Tanous handled a full HVAC system replacement at my home in Hoboken. The owner personally came out to do the initial assessment and had a quote over to me in under 24 hours. The work started less than a week later. The crew was on time, worked efficiently, kept me posted throughout, and worked carefully to avoid making a mess. Everything about their service is top notch and professional. Not to mention the quote was significantly less expensive than the other two quotes I received while shopping around.
This hvac service did not show up to our apartment for an appointment twice. We had to make work arrangements to accommodate our appointment with them and they didn’t show up both times without letting us know. This is very frustrating.

I had a major project to do involving a roof top commercial AC unit replacement on a busy Main Street, which called for a street closure and crane. All the companies I reached out to refused to even take on the job due to its complexity, but Mike took it on and exceeded my expectations. He even quoted me less than some of the companies that refused the job at the end. I've now used TANOUS in projects both Residential & Commercial and could not be happier. When our AC failed in the height of summer in Hoboken we contacted a few vendors. We were given a wide range of prices and delivery dates. We contacted Tanous based on a recommendation and their quote, choice of equipment and warranty was extremely competitive. They showed up on time, were professional and courteous and when we hit an issue with the installation, we were able to quickly resolve it with Mike the owner. They charged exactly what they quoted. Everything you should expect from a vendor but these days hard to find.
I am writing this review because I am extremely satisfied with the service Tanous has provided. I wanted to have AC installed in my home, I had window units and over the summer it got too hot.I had 4 companies visit my home, all of them offered various solution to my needs, all of them sounded complicated, expensive and not what I wanted. Then a good friend of mine recommended Tanous to me, he had used them and was extremely happy, so I thought I'll give them a try. After a couple of days Michael the owner of the company came to my home, and he immediately offered me a smart and reasonable solution, with a superior product at a better price than the other 4 companies from before. I could also tell that Michael was very knowledgable in the field and trustworthy. The coming week they installed my system, they did a great job communicating throughout, the installation was clean, and professional, the technicians were considerate and cleaned everything after themselves, they offered good solutions to cosmetic challenges that came up, and everything was completed to my 100% satisfaction, I will most defiantly use Tanous again for whatever comes up.By far the best experience I had with any sort of professional service/contractor throughout my home ownership.

ABSOLUTELY STAND UP GUYS! Mike has helped me out on 2 occasions one being a complex heating base board, boiler and thermostat install right before the winter and another with maintenance of my AC in spring. At both times i was desperate and both times Mike and team came through. The heating services mentioned were performed perfectly only to find a defective boiler owing to a manufacturer defect. Mike rectified it by getting a boiler out of pocket. The second time he helped me out was right before my child was due. I texted him and asked his help and in-spite of a busy schedule he sent someone over. Great guys and don’t even think of going to someone else

We recently went through a full gut renovation of our condo. We have dealt with so many contractors that it's hard to keep track anymore and our experiences have been less than pleasant. Tanous HVAC came in and completely changed the game. Mike and his employees are incredibly professional, they have fair prices, they do quality work, and were a pleasure to deal with. They installed 3 ductless mini-split units in our condo. Gave us the best price out of anybody, showed up on the promised date, and got it done in the promised timeframe. In my own attempt to rewire a new smart thermostat, I created a big mess and left ourselves without heat. Tannous HVAC came to the rescue and we are now back warm and comfortable.Alex was responsive and extremely knowledgeable. Very impressive.Would definitely use them again.
Mike the Owner is fantastic to work with and his team of his employees have been well trained. I had a water leak in my garage closet where my heating equipment & water heaters are housed. Mike quickly came by to access the damage. We immediately realized the current system was outdated and damaged from the water leak. Mike simply educated me on what he was seeing and didn't push me in any specific direction.We collectively came to the conclusion that doing it right now would save me many headaches down the road.Mike's Team installed new equipment and did a great job with the entire process. They moved quickly to get me back up and running but did not overlook the finite details. Now I have brand new furnaces and new tankless water heaters - good for the next 20+ years. I just moved to Hoboken and employed the services of Tanous for my HVAC maintenance. These guys are incredibly professional and good communicators. Recently, I called to schedule my heating maintenance. I scheduled it for Veteran's Day. After I hung up the phone, they called me back to ask if I'm a veteran b/c they offer discounts for vets.I'm not a veteran, but the fact that they called back to ask is really commendable.
They're the best. Always a great experience. My wife and I bought a house just over a year ago as first time homeowners. I contacted a bunch of people in their field and was stood up and given crazy quotes by almost all of them. Tanous not only has reasonable pricing, but is great to work with and is very trustworthy. I call them for anything that they can help me with. I definitely recommend giving them a call.
My wife and I moved into a condo building in Jersey City, and within a year, the HVAC crapped out! We had no idea what to do or who to turn to. We called so many companies and they all either ignored us, never showed up or quoted incredibly high prices. Finally we got referred tanous. They took on our project, gave us good pricing and did an amazing job. They were thorough, professional always on time, and our new Hvac System is amazing! Our place is super cool and feels like a hotel now!
Edit: They ended calling back after 12 hours from my first call. Went with someone else by that time.You should not market yourselves as a 24/7 service if you will not have employees available to take a service call over the weekend. Shame because I had very high expectations from all these perfect reviews.
Not only they've installed the wrong equipment, they lied about what the capacity of that equipment was. After several phone calls and emails they decided they don't wanna do the job anymore leaving us with useless equipment installed and no solution. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
We have used Tanous for hot water heater installation, HVAC work (including new system installation) and repair work on the old system. Mike, the owner, has personally visited our home several times to give estimates and make sure we were satisfied. He even traveled over an hour to my parent’s apartment to undertake a massive project for them. EVERYONE at this business is professional, kind and considerate. Chris even fit us in when our air conditioner wasn’t working and our 16 yr old dog couldn’t take the heat. They do great work at an affordable price and we continually refer Tanous to family and friends. Thanks to everyone at Tanous for all you do for us!
After having many companies come out to try and fix a heating issue, Tanous Heating was the only one that was able to do it. They were easy to work with and were cost effective. I would absolutely recommend them.
During the past 6 months Kris and the owner Mike have provided great knowledge and guidance on the process. When I move forward with the replacement, I will definitely trust them to do the work and in the meantime I will likely hire them to do a servicing to the HVAC system.
They are the best plumber and HVAC I have used. They recently replaced our water heater with a tankless. It was a complex install that they managed beautifully. Their staff are all good, professional and respectful to our home.
Great job! I had this damper in my HVAC that other mechanics couldn't figure out. Tanous sent someone who had been around HVAC for like 20 years. He figured it out in 10 minutes. Now my air flow is normal!

I would highly recommend Tanous for all of HVAC needs. They were able to help install a new furnace the day after ours died in the middle of the summer. Alex was very responsive, even took the time to FaceTime to help diagnose the issues the night our AC stopped working.
They were wonderful! Initially, we were concerned having our HVAC system repaired during the pandemic, but they were so considerate and on top of things that we were immediately put at ease. Everyone wore masks and booties inside and kept a safe distance. They were super fast and efficient, even when it became clear that our apartment layout provided challenges to completing the repair. They came up with a solution onsite that not only allowed them to get it done in one day, but keep the job under budget. Which was an added bonus since they already came in way lower than any of their competitors. Would highly recommend Tanous HVAC to anyone living in Hoboken area.

If you need work on your HVAC system in Hoboken, these are the only guys you need to call.I had been having problems with my HVAC for years, and the other professional from Hoboken who installed it told me it could not be repaired, and I would need to replace the system.Tanous had the expertise to repair my HVAC for a fraction of the cost of replacement, which the other guys didn't even know was possible.
I've had a very good response with my interactions with Tanous HVAC. The owner is very very responsive to your least concern. The dispatcher, Chris, is very professional, and answers phone calls promptly, giving you his undivided attention in what is obviously a very busy office. I would not hesitate to recommend Tanous if you have an HVAC problem or just need to establish a regular maintenance plan.
Tanous has done outstanding work on several projects of mine. We had them put in mini split AC units throughout our condo, as well as do work on our furnace. Their quality of work is top notch, their timeliness is perfect, and they are true professionals. They quoted us less than competitors, showed up on time, got done early, and came back to address any concerns! Tanous is the only HVAC service you ever need to call. The guys are very professional, know what they are doing and look out for the customer. No detail is too small and every precaution is taken to ensure the best operation of your unit. They may charge a bit more than some, but it is worth every cent. I've really never dealt with anyone better. You can always find someone to just "hook something up", but these guys do it the right way with the best parts which adds efficiency, extends unit life, and reduces the chance of breakdowns. Alex and his crew were really great from start to finish. They delivered well beyond my expectations (when does that ever happen?) and stepped up to help us resolve some issues completely unrelated to our HVAC. After dealing with them, I am very confident they will stand by their work if there ever is a problem (which I see as very unlikely). There really just isn't anyone who can offer you the same exceptional service in the area.
Tanous was fantastic. I had a couple of different companies come out for a diagnostic prior, and Tanous was so much better than all the others.They came out, told us exactly what was wrong with our mini split system (and that the last owner hired non qualified people to do the work), and scheduled a time and reasonable quote to move and repair our units.When they did come out to do the repair they spent 10 hours and did amazing work. Took their time, were very clean, knew exactly what they were doing. Our system now works flawlessly and we couldn’t be happier with the work.I highly, highly recommend. It’s always hard finding good folks in the service industry who are honest, fair, and knowledgeable, but these will be my go to HVAC guys for as long as I live in Hoboken.
This is a fantastic company. The Owner (Alex) is a great guy and helped rectify an ongoing issue that I was experiencing with my central AC unit. After dealing with several other HVAC companies in the area that over charged me and didn’t fix my issues, I’m really happy I found this company. Todd and Carlos were great! I had Tanous perform an annual check-up of my HVAC unit at my apartment in Hoboken. They respected my place by wearing booties (shoe covers) while in the apartment. They were pleasant to talk with and answered all of my questions. We even went to the roof and they explained what type of AC unit I had and the different components.It’s nice that Tanous has a Hoboken location as many skilled technicians will not work in Hoboken because of the parking and so on. Chris, the office manager, was always available when I called. It was easy to schedule an appointment and the prices were reasonable.I will definitely be using Tanous in the future.

I've tried to work with quite a few different heating and cooling shops around the area and am so glad to finally have found the guys at Tanous. I can't say enough about these guys. They are the first company to finally get everything working in my house and to explain how things work and what I need to know to maintain the equipment. I had another (well known in Hoboken) HVAC guy come in and tell me I needed a new boiler (and give me a $15k proposal for it). Tanous came in and showed me why that made no sense and had the system delivering fantastic heat for a few hundred dollars! They basically did the same with my rooftop unit; talking me out of replacing it (which two other shops told me I needed) and repairing it instead. Since then they have added baseboard heat in a room that had no heat, repaired a broken pipe (where no other plumber could find the source of venting steam), and finally got the heat working in my basement, which no one else had been able to do. Their techs are all pleasant to have in the house, their pricing is fair and (very importantly) they come when they setup appointments, and that has included weekends and holidays.
Honesty, transparent and customer satisfaction number one on their list— many companies wouldn’t touch my unique heating system but they worked diligently crunching numbers and answering all my questions. Do not hesitate in using them -
I had a radiator that was leaking water and needed to get it fixed ASAP. I left a note via their website, and Chris called me a couple of hours later. It was a late Wednesday afternoon, and they said their next availability was Friday morning between 9 am and 12 pm. They send a technician a little bit before 9, he took a look and said we would need a new valve and pipe. (Also really appreciated that he put shoe covers over his work boots so as to not scuff up our floor). He left for about an hour to pick up some parts but he was able to fix it the same day. We had another radiator with the same problem, which he got done within a few hours as well. The total cost was $650, which I don't think was too terrible. Overall, communication with Chris was quick and easy. Service was good too, since the radiator is not leaking anymore! Definitely would recommend Tanous HVAC.
Alex and Chris are honest guys who go out of their way to make things right.I was amazed at how patient they were with explaining everything to me. Their costs are very reasonable, and their installation for the entire System (AC, Coil, Furnace) was done very professionally.I’m very happy with them, and highly recommend.
Basically a bait and switch tactic. I went with the great reviews here and had them come and give me an estimate. They did send someone to take a look and the person quoted a rate before he left and assured that they would take care of it. A few days later, I receive a quote with a much inflated price than was previously quoted by Mike when he inspected the issue. After I questioned it, they said they would come back to me after chatting amongst themselves. A few weeks later I'm still waiting after numerous excuses.Another reviewer quoted that they do not care about the $$, but about great service. Unfortunately in my case it was nothing but $$ that they cared about.Update - The owner contacted me and apologized for this. They did alleviate the noise issue (75% better than it was before, which I am fine with) I had with the HVAC with an alternative method rather than the original plan and did it with a 20 minute visit and no charge. I'm glad we got this resolved and appreciate the customer service.
I was having an issue with the AC in my condo that I rent out. It seemed like the motor was slow and the transformer was getting hot. There are two tenants and they have pets so I was anxious to get things fixed. The workers that came out - Todd and a helper - were very knowledgable, clean and professional. They rigged to to work till they were able to order and get the new part. The part came in and they fit an appointment in their schedule so that my tenants would have AC. I really appreciated how quickly they attended to everything. Alex went above and beyond explaining the bill and making sure I was satisfied . I highly recommend them if you need HVAC repair.
The BEST! We have never had such great service and HONEST people. They are fast and on time and give fantastic service. We called many other companies and got the typical painful up front charges and vague responses. Tanous was amazing. They called back, were on time, very polite and fixed the a.c. fast and for a good price. Highly recommended !
After getting poor service from 3 prior HVAC vendors, we count ourselves fortunate in finding Tanous. Entering a heatwave, we contacted Tanous on a Friday morning; luckily, they had a cancellation and sent Johnny (?), who arrived at the beginning of the service window.We have a pretty big house, with 4 condensers....and Alex (one of the owners) also came by to inspect what needed to be done. Turned out that we had to replace a blower motor and the control board on one of the units, among other maintenance items which required service.We were very impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail, pricing, and service quality. They were able to get the replacement parts the same day, and stayed until 9:30 PM... on a Friday night (!), to finish the job! To replace the blown motor and control board, they had to crawl into the attic, which the temp was well above 120+ degrees...and had a positive and helpful attitude the entire time. Towards the end of the job, when they were putting on the tie-cords on new insulation padding, they even took the time to snip the excess strips of the cords for a neater look/appearance...and this was after 9 PM!We deal with alot of home improvement vendors, and have to say Alex & Johnny, as well as the entire Tanous team, were not only informative and explained everything they were doing, but also advised us NOT to spend $$ on certain things which they explained were not necessary, and wouldn't be cost-efficient.If I could give them 10-stars, I would...the only hesitation I have in recommending them is that they will get too busy to schedule us in next time! Other than that, do yourselves a favor and don't even consider calling anyone else for your HVAC needs!
The problem of my rooftop AC has haunted me for years. And I decided this year to have the system checked up by professionals. I contacted Tanous on their website and got reply in a hour and appointment fixed in a day. Initially I thought there was only a leak of freon but Todd and his colleague did carefully a comprehensive diagnosis and identified another big problem from a fault contactor on the unit. They did a quick repair while offering me a very reasonable price. Todd is a real charm with high professional expertise. He explained me carefully every details of the problems. I can't thank more their professionalism and honesty in dealing with customers. Feel so lucky to find your team. I highly recommend Tanous HVAC and wise you good business. I've never written a review before, but after the great customer service i've had with Tanous HVAC, i had to leave one. There's currently a heat wave, my home was over 90 degrees and my landlord was not getting back to my emails about my ac not working. I called Tanous, i explained to Chris the situation. Even though they were booked for 3 days, he went out of his way to pull employees to send over immediately.Great customer service, friendly and i would recommend these guys any day of the week

My HVAC broke down recently. I spoke with several contractors all whom came to check things out and provide an estimate. Tanous was by far the most reasonably priced. Decided to go with them based on that and based on the honesty of the guys that came to look.HVAC was installed by another group of guys who where really friendly, considerate and super hard working. Had a issue the next day and immediately they sent over the first two guys to identify the issues and fix it. A great company with great employees from the owner who stopped by to the installers to the service guys. all top notch, highly recommended.
These guys were great from start to finish. I came home from a vacation to find one of my two furnaces had shut off. I called a different company to have a look they told me that basically my furnace was shot, and would need to get a new furnace, coil, and condenser since R22 wont be produced anymore after 2020. I had a friend refer me towards Tanous. Alex, Mike, and Kris were all great. They never tried to upsell me and were always very price conscious unlike other companies. They answered all the questions I had day and night to walk me through the process. The day of the installation the teams was professional and very courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and sent a technician the next day to check that everything was working right.
Needed maintenance and a leak repair before the weather gets hotter and called Tanous. They were on schedule and got the job done. Todd was one of the technicians and he was very knowledgeable recommending some tips to keep our units running smoothly. Highly recommended and look into their maintenance contract if you want efficient units for years to come.
